Spring Break

We started Spring Break a day early this year!  We were invited to Noah and Sophia's school for "Special Guest Day" and Noah wanted Lucy to be there.

So we headed out at 7am and got to spend the day at their sweet little school.  We went to Sophia's room first
They were learning the letter "Q"--Sophia brought a question mark
Then we headed to lunch (Lucy couldn't wait to get out of the "baby classroom"). Ha!

Noah came in a little later and joined us
Next we headed to the 1st grade classroom and did some writing.  Lucy was helping him with his spelling.
He wrote Thank You cards to each of us for coming!
The completed this US map floor puzzle together
I love 1st and 2nd grade smiles!
We proceeded to the performance afterwards and then later in the evening started the "Real Marriage" retreat put on by Mark and Grace Driscoll.  It was very neat to attend!

I worked Monday-Wednesday and then headed out on Wednesday night to the country.  It was nice to relax!  Thursday was my daddy's 68th birthday, so I made him another granola cake and a nice meal.
Yum!
We spent the afternoon cutting down trees and splitting wood.  Nephew #1 learned how to drive the tractor as well and both boys have become such a great asset to these "work days".
He's also young enough to be lifted in the bucket for the high-up jobs
And he's a cute photo-bomber

Wait for it...

One!
Lucy found an ipad to distract her from the commotion outside...
the tree was then chopped into pieces with the splitter

Yup...
Lucy came back out to ride on the scooter

And to complete this post, we found a picture of my dad when he was the age Lucy is now.  I LOVE these pictures!
