Welcome, 2015!
We had three more special events before it was time to head "back to reality" of work and school.
The first one was a post-Christmas trip to Kerrville with my parents. We wanted to visit my 97-year-old Aunt Lib and decided to make a weekend trip of it. We stayed at the La Quinta in Kerrville...very nice in case you are ever out in the Hill Country! They had an indoor pool and free breakfast--two big pluses in my book.

| Our first night we enjoyed Cal-Bob's Smoke Shack--it was as good as Black's!! |
The next morning we enjoyed our free breakfast
 |
| Lucy, starting with Texarkana |
And stopped at the obligatory quilt shop in Fredericksburg
 |
| So many pretty colors! |
And we had a little road trip on Willow City Loop to see the scenery and the old deer lease that "the guys" used to use
 |
| It was SO quiet out there |

Then it was time to head to the retirement community to visit Aunt Lib. Her daughters Lisa and Martha were there with their spouses so it was a mini-family reunion.

| Lucy and her great-great Aunt (Elizabeth) "Lib" |
It was SO wonderful to see everyone, especially since we don't get together with this side of the family as often.
Afterwards, we braved the cold and went to Der Lindenbaum in downtown Fredericksburg. We had to wait for 25 minutes or so but at least we got in!
 |
| Yum! |
We went to the hot tub when we got back to the hotel and ate gummy bears and watched TV. Heaven!
Lucy doubled up on breakfast before we left the next morning
 |
| This time going for the panhandle |
And I forgot to post about Brownie coming to our house while my sister and her family were away in North Carolina. She and Jimmy got along surprisingly well!
 |
| All these pets! |
 |
| He's only getting bigger |
 |
| Pretty kitty. Lucy likes to wrap him up in blankets |
 |
| He loves to roll around on the porch. On his back fat. |
