Quilt Show 2015

Today was an eventful day--we braved the cold/ice and headed to La Grange for the 18th annual "Best Little Quilt Show in Texas".

This was my mom's 3rd year to participate, with a total of 13 quilts entered.  She was "promoted" to master category last year and won quite a few awards in her new category!

Her show-stopper this year was picked "Best of Show".  She named it "Autumn Brilliance"
It also won 1st place in Professional/Master 2-person quilt division
Her other show-stopper was "Stars in the Garden", which won Judge's Choice, 1st place in Past Show Chair Award in Master division and 1st place in Master Past Show Chair Theme.  Wow!

Several of her other quilts won ribbons as well!

"A Field of Blue" won 2nd place in Master Home Decor category

"Christmas Gathering" won 2nd place in Master Quilts

Me, next to "Sunflowers"...it won Honorable Mention in Master wall quilts
Sunflowers was also one of my Christmas presents this year.  :)
"Flowers in the Forest" won 2nd place in Masters Two Person quilt--this was one of my favorites!
"The Goldfinch" won 1st place in Master Small Wall Quilts

"Majestic Mosaic" won 2nd place in Master Small Wall Quilts
Another favorite of mine--"Rainbow Bubbles" won 3rd place in Master Baby quilts division
And now, for the few quilts that DIDN'T win a ribbon :)

The quilt made for my sister--I think it was "Roosters"

Behind them is a "Quilted Stories" butterfly quilt that she created...Lucy was running out of steam by this point
And lastly, my nephew won 1st place for his "Watermelon" quilt that he entered into the youth division.  Way to go, J!
All in all, it was a wonderful day!
