2nd grade field trip

I was blessed to be part of another field trip!  This year, the 2nd graders went to Inner Space Caverns.  I went on a field trip here as a child and was happy to come back!

They also had a few animals to look at outside

neat formations

The only one we were allowed to touch
Here is the 2-foot hole that the first explorer came through

Can you see the "bacon"?

She likes bacon...

It was a tight squeeze at times
We all enjoyed a picnic lunch afterwards

landowner Rev. Laubach
One of the most interesting things I found was that the landowner at the time that the caverns were discovered was a Lutheran pastor in Texas.  He was ordained and served around the same time as my great-grandfather--they probably knew each other!
All in all, it was a great field trip!
