1st grade field trip

I had the privilege of chaperoning on the 1st grade field trip this year.  The students rode on the bus to the capitol building for our first stop.  Unfortunately, since the legislature was in session, we didn't get to do much inside other than take group class photos.

We shuffled the kids outside to eat lunch (two hours early) on the capitol grounds.  Lucy ordered a bagged lunch from the school cafeteria...here is what she thought of the bagged tomato wedges that came with it...ew...

Then we shuffled the kids back on the bus to go to the children's museum

It was a well-organized field trip as they had a person come and lead each class through the museum.  The first stop...learning about centrifugal force

 

 I was one of the adults who volunteered to swing the cup of pennies around and around.  Unfortunately, I didn't swing fast enough and flung a cup of pennies at Mr. G's head.  Oops!

Next we learned how to make a rotocopter.  I think this was Lucy's favorite!

It was an enjoyable day!  Lucy was so tired she fell asleep both on the bus back to school and the bus to the house.  She didn't want to miss  the last part of school as her class WON the box-top collection and got to have a popcorn party!
